Who we are

Tanuki Tango is made by Appberry. This notice covers the Tanuki Tango website and the current local Android preview. For questions about privacy, contact [email protected].

When you visit this website

You can browse without creating an account or submitting personal information. We do not use advertising trackers, marketing analytics or embedded social feeds. Joining the waitlist is optional. Fonts and artwork are served with the website rather than loaded from third-party font or image services.

Cloudflare hosts and delivers the website. As part of providing and securing that service, it may process technical request information such as your IP address, the requested URL, request time, browser information and security signals. We use this hosting service to make the website available and protect it from abuse. Cloudflare may use necessary security cookies when its protections are triggered. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for its handling of this information, including retention and international processing.

The site itself does not set cookies or save information in your browser’s local storage. Ordinary browser caching may retain downloaded site files.

When you join the waitlist

If you choose to join, we store your email address, platform preference (Android, iOS or both), signup time and a record of the email consent you gave. Appberry uses this information to send occasional Tanuki Tango development news and launch updates, and to understand which platforms people are interested in. We do not sell the list or use it for unrelated advertising.

The list is stored in a private Cloudflare D1 database accessible to Appberry through its Cloudflare account and the website’s signup service. Signup does not create a game account, and no confirmation email is sent automatically. We keep your entry until you ask to leave or we close the waitlist.

To help limit spam, the signup service briefly processes your IP address and converts it into a secret-keyed identifier that changes each day. We store that identifier with a request count separately from the list, not your raw IP address or a link to your email. Counters expire at midnight UTC; expired counters are removed as subsequent signups are processed. Hosting security records are handled separately as described above.

You can withdraw consent, leave the list, update your platform preference, or request access to or deletion of your entry by emailing [email protected] from the address you used to join. Leaving the list does not affect your use of the website or game. Deleted records may remain temporarily in Cloudflare’s recovery backups until those backups expire.

When you play the current Android preview

The preview stores a guest profile, settings, saved boards and practice history locally on your device. This data is used to resume your game and show your practice. You do not need to create an online account.

The current preview does not send learning progress to an Appberry server. It has no advertising, purchases, cloud sync or third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK. Pronunciation recordings are bundled with the preview; it does not request microphone access or record your voice.

This describes the standalone preview. Developer tools and third-party testing apps, if you use them to run a development build, have their own data practices.

Keeping or deleting your practice

Local game data stays on the device until it is removed. You can delete it by clearing Tanuki Tango’s app storage in Android settings or uninstalling the app. The current preview disables Android automatic backup and does not include export or cloud recovery. Clearing storage or uninstalling can permanently remove your saved progress.

Appberry does not hold a copy of that local progress and cannot recover it for you.

When you email us

If you contact us, Appberry and its email provider process your email address, message and any attachments so we can reply and help with your request. Please avoid sending sensitive information you do not need us to see. We retain correspondence as needed to resolve the conversation and related support issues, or where retention is required by law.

We do not sell your support messages or use them for advertising. You can ask us to access, correct or delete information you have sent by emailing [email protected]. We will respond in accordance with applicable privacy law; some records may need to be retained for legal reasons.

Links to other websites

Links to Appberry or other services take you to separate websites. Their own privacy notices apply when you visit them.

As the game grows

The app is still in development. If we introduce remote downloads, accounts, crash reporting, analytics or other services that change how information is handled, we will update this notice to explain them before those features are released. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
